The Tennessee Orthopaedic Society, represented by board member Phil Karpos, MD, joined orthopaedic leaders from across the nation in Washington, D.C. for this year’s National Orthopaedic Leadership Conference (NOLC) Day on the Hill. The event served as a vital opportunity for Tennessee to have a voice in national conversations on musculoskeletal health and policy, with Dr. Karpos advocating directly on behalf of patients and orthopaedic professionals in the state.
Each year, NOLC advances the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons’ (AAOS) Unified Advocacy Agenda by bringing together surgeons and society leaders to engage lawmakers. The focus is on providing legislative and regulatory education, securing support for orthopaedic-related initiatives, and strengthening relationships with decision makers at the highest levels of government. Through this collaborative effort, the Tennessee Orthopaedic Society ensures that the needs of its members and patients are represented on the national stage.
