Candidate Membership Qualifications

To be eligible for Candidate Membership in the Tennessee Orthopaedic Society (TOS), orthopaedic surgeons must:

  • Be a candidate for examination and certification by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery or the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgery;
  • Maintain good standing with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) or the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (AOAO);
  • Be a lawfully licensed physician in the State of Tennessee;
  • Maintain the highest professional, moral, and ethical standards;
  • Support the Constitution of the United States and the State of Tennessee;
  • Comply with the dues, fees, and assessment requirements as established by the TOS Board of Directors.

Candidate Members are eligible to vote, but are not eligible to hold office, serve on committees, or sponsor candidates for membership.
